The Cape Winemakers Guild was established in 1982 by eight leading independent winemakers who shared a vision to create premium South African wines that would receive international recognition. Today the 37 individual members realise this vision by producing rare and unique wines for the Guild's auction.
On the first Saturday of October the Guild's annual auction is held. The wines are selected for inclusion during a blind tasting by the other members and only chosen if they meet the Guild's strict standards. Each year we travel out to Stellenbosch to bring these unique wines back to Champany. They are then matured in our underground cellars until ready for drinking.
By their very nature the wines from The Cape Winemakers Guild are amongst the very best made in South Africa.
